Tim Tebow Mic’d Up!

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

Tim Tebow was recently mic’d up on Sound FX in a game against the Chicago Bears.  The respect and responses he gets from teammates and competitors is unbelievable.

As Skip Bayless, of ESPN First Take would say, HE IS A FORCE OF COMPETITIVE NATURE!

What You Can Learn from “Live Your Life by T.I. ft. Rihanna”

Friday, December 9th, 2011

It’s amazing the impact that music can have on our lives.  The combination of an upbeat sound and meaningful lyrics, can become inspiration for our everyday lives. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting on a few songs with powerful lyrics that continue to inspire me every day.

Live Your Life – T.I. featuring Rihanna

Even if you aren’t a fan of Rap/HipHop, you have to admit that this song kills it.  The combination of extremely powerful lyrics and major star power (T.I. & Rihanna) made this song an instant hit.  Even if you don’t recognize the title of the song, you’ll definitely recognize the sound of it.  Live Your Life is one of the most played songs at professional sporting events.  If you’ve seen the movie, “The Hangover” you know the song hits hard as the guys enter their luxurious villa.  But what can YOU learn from it?

“at the end of the road, thru all the adversity… if you can get where you wanted to be, you remember whatever don’t kill you, make you stronger…and all the adversity was worth it “

T.I. hits it right off the bat!  Adversity is something we all face.  It’s something that is unescapable.  You can’t hide and it can hit you from anywhere.  One second, life is great, but then something happens that will shake you to your core.  How should YOU handle it?

As I look back, the moments of adversity in my life were important.  I now view them as valuable.  My strength was being built for situations I would face in the future and will continue to face.   I’ve come to the realization that those moments of adversity were valuable lessons.  They were lessons that success would have never taught me.  Now, I can honestly say it was worth it.  They were moments that shaped me into the person I am today.

“Nevermind what haters say, ignore them ’til they fade away.”

As mentioned in a previous posting “What if fine isn’t good enough“, haters do exist.  In fact, there are a lot of them!  As soon you step out of the “norm” and pursue an extraordinary life, be ready.  You’ll start hearing “chirping” from everywhere.  99% of the time, these haters are people that have done nothing with their lives.  To help themselves feel better, they will attempt to bring you back to their level.  (Sidenote: We are currently seeing this hate towards Tim Tebow)

T.I. is right, you have to ignore them.  Remember, if you weren’t do anything in your life, they wouldn’t be hating.  Use the hate to fuel your passion.  There is no better way to say it than this:  Prove them wrong and make them look stupid!

“Got my mind on my money and I’m not goin away”

This lyric is about so much more than money.  It’s an unstoppable way of thinking.  It’s a mindset that says, “I don’t care what opposition I’m facing, I’m not going anywhere.  Nobody is going to stop me!”

You will most definitely face competition in life.  Competition can be found in sports, business, and life in general.  Are you going to be in a battle for a starting posistion?  You better be working hard with a mindset that says, “No one is taking my spot!”  Has your business recently faced some new competition?  Don’t get mad at them for competing.  Go into the battle with a mindset to destroy them!  Are you facing a test in the coming weeks that seems impossible?  Don’t be scared of it.  Attack it head on with confidence!

Conclusion

It’s important that we look for inspiration everywhere.  One great place to look is in music.  The next time you are listening to a song, take a closer look at the lyrics.  Is there something in there that you can use as inspiration?  If so, make sure to listen to the song in moments when you need some extra motivation.
