An Open Letter To Get Better Today Readers
If you’re reading this, I’d like to say thank you…
You’ve made the GetBetterToday.com journey rewarding. And we’ve gone places I would have never imagined.
- Over 500,000 people have visited our site in the last two years.
- When Get Better TV was launched, people from 11 different countries tuned in for the LIVE show.
It’s been amazing.
God has been good. And I’ve learned a lot along the way.
That’s why I know it’s time to make a change.
Since this website was created, there’s been one glaring weakness: a lack of focus.
And that’s my fault.
We’ve been sharing inspirational stories about Life, Christianity, and Sports. All of which, are meaningful topics.
But there’s a problem. When you cover multiple topics, it’s hard to become an expert. My greatest fear is that we’ve become a jack-of-all-trades – and master of NONE.
“Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.” -Steve Jobs
So, what are we going to do?
Starting today, Get Better Today is focusing on sharing the world’s most interesting and inspirational sports stories.
90% of our content will be video. Every once in awhile, we’ll toss in an inspirational sports picture or article, but that’s not going to be our focus.
We’re going to keep it simple.
Even though we’ve received a great response on our Life & Christianity stories – our Sports content has always been the most popular.
So we’re going to focus on it.
Is my Faith still strong?
However, I understand your concern. It can be alarming when someone steps away from a “Christian-themed” industry for something else.
But don’t worry.
I’ll still be writing about my life and Christian-themed topics occasionally. That’s why I created MichaelFear.me! Go check it out
I believe we were all created to make God more famous.
That’s not going to change, regardless of what this website is doing.
I had to ask myself the tough questions.
If I was consulting the owner of Get Better Today, what would I suggest?
Am I trying to force something – when our content doesn’t really fit the “brand”?
What is the data saying? Am I listening?
I’ll never forget…
When my grandfather was dying, there was an overarching theme in my head: FEAR.
I remember thinking…
If we’re all going to die, why do we play life so safe?
What do we have to lose?
At the end of our lives, 99% of the stuff we do isn’t going to matter.
If that’s the case, why do we make so many decisions based on FEAR?
My Grandpa’s favorite quote was…
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”
It had been posted at our house for years, but until my grandpa was on his deathbed, I never understood it.
It’s kinda crazy, DEATH taught me a lot about LIFE.
That’s why we’re going to keep playing the game.
We’re not going to be a slave to fear.
We’re going to keep swinging for the fences.
We’re going to be a light in the sporting world.
Please come with us.
